4. The temperature in the room is important for flowers as well. High temperatures make flowers wither much faster. The perfect conditions for them would be 65-72F. You should also keep them away from any appliances that illuminate heat while turned on.
5. If you received roses for a gift and want to enjoy their beautiful look for a long time you shouldn’t under any circumstances remove their thorns. Thorns are essential for roses’ beauty and removing them will cause flowers to deteriorate faster.
6. It has been established that fruits release ethylene gas, which is harmful to flowers. So if you really enjoy the sight of fresh flowers, don’t keep your bowl of fruits and your bouquets in the same room.
7. If you have a bouquet made of different flowers and daffodils are among them, you should remove them from the rest of the bouquet. Daffodils need their own vase as their stems release the substance that is toxic for other flowers.
8. If you want flower-buds to stay glorious and fresh like in the garden, spray them with mild mist every day. They need moisture as well as the stem.
9. To make flowers last the longest you should put some preservatives or flower food which can be purchased at any local store. In case if you are adding preservatives do not use a metal vase as metal reduces the effect of the flower food.
10. And the last, but not the least – take care of you flowers every day. Remove the rotting leaves and re-cut the stem for better water absorption.
